Tess is graduating from the grammar school she has attended for nine years. While I expect Tess to go to school for many more years, this is a big deal around here. The kids will go to Boston for a class trip. I'm sure some of you are beginning to see where we're going here. Kids & parents are forced to shamelessly solicit support from family, friends, neighbors, strangers-- no one is safe! We have a 250 year old house/studio on the coast of Maine full of so much that we do not take to shows - we have more yarn, roving, buttons, needles, kits & LOTS of bargains!
We live on Petit Manan Peninsula, about 1/2 hour from Ellsworth, 1 hour from Bar Harbor and 4 hours from Portland. We're on Strawberry Point, 1/4 mile off Pigeon Hill Road, 1/2 mile south of the lobster pound (lobsters guaranteed to be fresh!) and 2 miles north of Petit Manan Bird & Wildlife Refuge which has several hiking trails. Just down the road there's an easy trail to a panoramic view from the top of Pigeon Hill. We have a young black lab who is very good at entertaining husbands & children down by the water, though they may get a little wet, too! Depending when you visit us, we have strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. It's idyllic in the summer and early fall and pretty nice the rest of the year, too. I came for a two week vacation 25 years ago! Please call first!
